This is a question for somebody out there who knows the alignment measurements for the 2001 F150 4x4. Is the wheelbase the same on the left and right sides? I have been told that the left side is 139" and the right side is 137.5" wheelbase. Is this correct?
Assuming that the wheelbase is measures from the center of the front axle to the center of the rear axle, the only way one side could be shorter than the other is to have the rear axle crooked and/or the tie rods on the front are set to keep the front wheels crooked. If both the front and rear axles were crooked the truck would crab walk when driving straight, if only one axle were crooked you couldnt keep tires on the truck.
I was told that the two sides are different because of something to do with the way the truck suspension is layed out and aligned. Supposedly it is this way by design. This sounds really weird to me and I wanted somebody to look this up in the alignment specs books.
