This may be silly to you guys I guess, but how hard would it be to swap from an 08-09 to the 05-07 front? I just dont really like the current look as much, and the completely flat bumper on the 08s just seem like they are taking a big step back. Just about all the aftermarket replacement bumpers I've seen look nicer on the 05-07 just because of that slight raise up on each end.
Silly, no, not silly; however, I would not recommend it for engineering reasons. The reason ford swaped to the 08 style front end has little to do with aesthetics and everything to do with the new engine reqirements. That massive stack of radiators hiding behind the hood has more to do with the front end look than anything else. I am not gonna say it can't be done, but I do think that if one were to find a way to actually put an older front end onto the 08 frame, there would be some major airflow issues that would lead to overheating and then component malfunction/failure.
i agree with you.. and i will take it one step further and say i think the front ends of the '08's are but ugly
Yes, the straight bumper is ugly. The previous bumper is much more stylish and appealing. But I'm sure something we can all agree on is that the new Chevy is one of the ugliest trucks ever made.
Its a little late for me and I may not be thinking right but wouldn't the only motor that needed the changes as far as cooling requirements go be the diesel? The gas motors are the same motors they have been since 05 right? If thats true then the conversion to a previous body style from an 08 with a gas motor shouldn't create much problem correct?

10-4 to that! The Chevy dealer is right across the street from one of my car washes. I worked there for a couple of years, my mom and dad met when both worked there, my uncle was the service mgr for 40 yrs, and a brother in law worked there for ten years. I really should have bought there, but when that butt ugly thing hit the lots all deals were off. I now have an '08 F-250 and also bought an '01 Sport-Trac just this week.
BTW, my fiance works at a Ford dealer in another town and that is where I bought the F-250.
HOW MUCH DO WANT FOR THE COMPLETE FRONT END? SEND ME AN EMAIL IF YOU STILL HAVE THIS AT BENELECPRO@GMAIL.COM THANKS

I believe the front frame ends are lower. The front end happened because the feds made legislation requiring the front and rear bumpers and headlights and tail lights lower, so as to line up with cars for accidents. Thats why the 08 + have the lights low and the turnsignals and reverse lights high. When the bumpers were lowered, that made the cooling area much bigger.
