all metal expands when heated

Or at least I can't think of one that doesn't under normal circumstances.

Sure, the head will expand, but the spark plug hole in the head will get bigger too, not smaller. Aluminum has a higher CTE than steel, so the hole in the head should get bigger faster than the steel shell of the plug does.

Even if you created a perfect vacuum outside of the broken plug, that would not translate into a whole lot of force. 14 something psi on a farily small area is pretty insignificant.

For a plug change! Man at that rate I'm gonna find an investor and open a shop that does nothing but 5.4 3v plug changes. There's still a chance i could retire rich!
