As others have said it is worth every penny over the stock air box. Better airflow means more power.

That is probably the best photo, step, by step instructions I've seen here. I am surprised he didn't show drilling a hole in the steel connecting pipe, inserting a rubber grommet, then pluging in the air temp sensor to finish the job.

IN any case, great directions, and believe me, the NAPA air cleaner does a terrific job.

do you need to put a cover on it? how important is that or does the cover just make it last longer?

I think the cover is very benificial. Pete aka _F250 has some wicked covers for very reasonable. He can even personalize them for you. It just prolongs the filter life a bit. Look for Rons01Powerstroke's pic of his that has only been on for three months. It is all snotty full of road salt. That dust if filter clogging nasty.

I did this mod,but I have a AFE tourqe tube instead of the factory one.the rubber boots that come with the tube will fit over the 6637 filter end no need for a pipe.and I like the sound of the X-wheel when she's under load.

I have been looking at yours for the past minute and cannot make it out. Kinda looks like a guy is throwing a shovel at another guy running a walkbehind snowblower directing the chute at him?

BTW... it's 425 cfm. But you have to compare that with the stocker's rating of 260 cfm.
