injector questions

As yall know I am in the process of rebuilding my 302 in my 94 F150, My questions are What injector should I go with. My stock injectors are wore out and have 240k on them anyway. I have been looking at some 24# injectors but will they be too much and will I have to recalibrate the MAF. I am running a 204/214 .448/.472 cam, headers, flowmaster exhaust and no cats so will I need larger than stock injectors.

no your stock injectors will handle yout new cam no problem. the 19# injectors are good for 310 hp. youll need alot more than a cam to get that much out of your 302.

they are in need of rebuilding. how hard is it too rebuild them? would 24# injectors be too much and make it run rich?

24# injectors wont neccearly cause it to run rich if you use the appropriat mass air meeter. so you are adding considerable cost to replacing you mass air meeter as well as new injectors. you shold only go to larger injectors if you are planning major engine mods such as a supercharger. and even adding up to 6 lbs of boost you still would not need larger injectors. just purchase some rebult ones from your local parts house and enjoy your new motor.

What you are proposing is nothing more than a 5.0HO with 1.7 rockers, and that runs fine on 19lb injectors. Bigger injectors on a motor that has not been recalibrated to use them with a chip or tuner won't make any more power but will deliver worse drivability and milage. if your set is worn out the best you could do is buy a new set.

yeah stick with the stock #s -fuel injection is not like the old carbs-from all I've tried to learn-bigger is not always better-even with the old carbs

I've never heard of rebuilding injectors. You can clean them out and replace the o-rings outside, but that should be all you have to do.

http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/?p=82

I just...
1. soak them in carb dip for 10 to 15 minutes
2. using a 9v batt. powered test circuit, spray them out with compressed air
3. rinse with carburetor/injector cleaner
4. install new o-rings

And they are as good as new.

What about the cap the holds on the o-ring(intake side), I have a few injectors that the cap is broken appart . Is that a part easy to get? or have the get the whole injector?
