I have a 1996 F250 4x4 used primarily for pulling a landscaping trailer and snowplowing. Driving around without the plow the transmission is fine, even on lengthy drives. However once the extra demand of plowing snow is applied, the transmission pukes tranny fluid at the bottom of the bellhousing. Heat and pressure build up is the problem. A blocked vent tube could be the problem, but if the fluid is not being purged through the vent tube, where is it coming from? and why does it reseal itself when cooler-and not plowing snow?
they will puke at the weakest place
I have had one that sent it out the dip stick tube
get a bigger cooler and add it to the front of the radiator
on my van I put a second factory cooler in line
picked it up for 10.00 at a u pull it
mhg and quicklook2 are on the money on this one -friend had one doing the same thing-larger cooler and trans service cured the problem-also use low range when plowing-takes a lot of bind off the auto trans and puts it on the transfer case
