i am looking for a new manifold, but due to my having to deal with smog laws, (i live in CA), i must use a manifold that is EGR equiped. my question is, which manifold should i go with? edelbrock or weiand, i dont know if weiand even makes an EGR acceptable manifold...any other manifold i will debate over also, but i think that the more power at a lower rev is better for my engine, its a:
stock 460 with headers, dual exhaust, msd ignition, K&N, and holley 750 carb...what next should i do besides intake manifold, i know a cam swap should be in there but i cant just take to heart comepletely tearing the front of the engine apart to do so...plus i dont exacly put many miles on my truck either, it is my daily driver but i have only put 4000 miles on it in the past year...thanks
I also like Edelbrock manifolds. I've found the RPM model with its slightly higher runners provides a little crisper throttle response tham the standard performer.
You'd best be cautious with a cam if you have to pass Kalifornia emission tests. I read real horror stories about them on other lists.
I love my RPM manifold...the sucker can vaporize anybody I please...boy, the thing wails at 60mph....torque-city usa. The Avenger 770 and the Edlebrock RPM is a great combo and I know it's available with the EGR if you need it. Have fun!!....

I am running the weiand stealth as well. Love it! But I don't know about passing CA smog though, you will probably be required to have an operating egr right??
Heck who cares, move to Alabama and never worry about smog checks again!
