Help.. Truck Pick.
mine was serviced regularly before i got it and i change oil @ 5k fuel filters @10.

OBTW: I am no hater of any FORD...but facts are facts. It should be noted that the 6.0L did have a lot of problems in those years.
I stopped counting the PCM re-flashes that came out...but you'all can enlighten me? Plus...doesn't the 6.0L PSD in '03 and '04 have an EGR issue? I recall...most PSD owner's say not to let the engine idle for long periods...or the EGR will get plugged. Massive carbon build-up with specific cleaning instructions...or even a procedure to unplug (by pass) it...all together. Something about head gaskets blowing also comes to mind. Or the all to familiar mains leaking. I shouldn't even mention the over heating issues that the 6.0L PSD has had...either.
FWIW: The '08 6.4L PSD...has addressed many of the 6.0L PSD issues...
Agreed with many suggesting on getting an Oasis. That should help making a decision.

EGR problem is a problem on ALL trucks! If your relating that to Coolant Blowout.. Again that's not even specific to 03-04.. Got a buddy with a souped up 05 6L, EGR Blockoff, Headstuds, still blows coolant..
Headstuds.. AGAIN all across the board.. 03-07, Ford acknowledges the horrible Torque-to-Yield bolts as incapable of providing sufficient hold down.. Will they fix it? Hell no, cost to much..
Sure there is a fair share of 03-04 that just flat out croak.. It happens, again it could happen to an 07.. It's production.. Common sense.. No product, whether engine or engineering of toliet paper will ever be 100% identical from one to the other.. Just how manufacturing goes..
Facts and honesty are a major plus in this business.. Folks want truth.. But one thing Folks don't want, is a crowd of 80 people immediately saying "STAY AWAY FROM 03-04 TRUCKS!"
Thats just a little TOO far..
Anyways.. That's all I got to say.. Flame on.. Either way it don't matter me to me.. My 04 runs strong and will always run strooooong :-P

Still facts are facts...and the OP should be made aware.
For example if someone came on the forum asking about the good/bad of the V10 2v. I would give them an honest answer based on the year they were interested in. Doesn't hurt my feelings that the V10 2v has and still does have some short comings. But a newbie looking for answers deserves the truth as best we know it.

Cheers!
