I have been coming here for years, literarly. Yes, I am whining, though I like to think of it as "venting".
Someone gets on here and asks for help with a problem, "fordcontractor" for example, how to take apart the center consol for replair, or myself asking a question about the abs system.
I finally got an two replies on the second posting of my question. Don't know if anyone ever answered fordcontractor.
Let me make a comment that perhaps a problem with Superduty theft in Houston is over inflated, or let some ********* who doesn't like his Ford and tells us about getting a Silverado write in, and the message board comes alive. Ask about 26 inch windshield wiper blades, and people will beat a path to your door.
So, that is it in a nut shell. Where are our priorities, when did we worry more about what the Chevy guy is driving, then helping each other? And I am supposed to become a supporter, that will make me oh so much better than the guy who is coming here for info and help?
Yeah, like I said earlier, it is me whining, but I can't believe that I have to listen to crap from a "posting Guru" because I stated both my opinion and some facts, while it took several days and several posts to get an answer to a real question.
I don't think whether or not you are a supporter plays any role in whether you get a reply or not.
Sometimes questions are asked and the answer may not be commonly known, and the few who do know may not chance upon your post.
It seems to me that the most active participants are most likely to get replies.
Some questions are simply more interesting to discuss. Yes there are some hot topics and are more likely to get a response. ABS isn't very sexy.
Questions that are clearly stated and that include enough info to understand the situation are more likely to get a reply.
Searching the forums will often result in answers. The search functions here I must say are not as good as we might like. But if you work at it you often find a combination of terms that is helpful.
I'm not saying any of that applies to you or anyone else. Just offering thoughts as I said. This forum has been VERY good to me in knowledge gained about my truck. But it is what it is and won't solve every issue.
Bill
I see it as one of two things.....
either they just don't know the answer to the question... or ...
its a matter of not being rude and telling some one to try the "search" button....
if you look at all of the forums on this site .... the Super Duty forum ... is by far the most visited ...besides the (general forum)
Bill, that is a very well put answer to his post. If I don't know enough about the subject the OP is asking about, I will leave it to somwone that knows. Sometimes the thread leads to another problem that I may have some input on, and then I will reply to it.

Thanks.
Thats about what I do as well theres some areas I know pretty well & others not so much,so Ill just read the post & then checkback because im interested in hearing what the guys who do know have to say, maybe I can learn something from them.
Molotov. I went and looked at the topics/questions you posted. The first one you posted on the 23rd......Looks like 20-something views, but no answers (maybe no one knew the answer?). You reposted the question on ABS today at 0143 hrs, and got a response at what, 0830?......Then two more responses after that and a follow-up question from another member. I'm not sure what you're expecting regarding response times or response volumes on technical questions. And it wasn't even an "I'm Broke Down and I Need Help NOW" thread either......
And looky here......This thread is only an hour and a half old and you got 6 responses!....
It's been my experience that members don't look for a "Supporter" tag when helping another member.
It is better to give no information than wrong information. The thread about your ABS is not a topic that I see alot of. So as far as converting a non-abs to abs truck most likely wont get of ton of replies.
Remeber that very few of us in here are professional mechanics. We come here for answers first and entertainment second. So when a 24" wiper blade thread takes off, it is because us lame old ford truck drivers have replaced our wiper blades and know the stock 20's are too small and have taken care of it.
Don't give up on FTE. I have posted a bunch of things that I needed to know the answers too and have recieved a few responses that really didn't help a bit.
Too answers your ABS question, with the amount of ABS junk that is mounted on the inner fenders in the engine compartment, I would have to say it would next to impossible to do it. Especailly with 225K on the clock, how much would it cost to buy the stuff? Junk yard maybe?
Some days lots of folks are on here and sometimes not..I will answer only the questions I feel I can contribute to..I have had questions never answered. Depends on the question. You are not being rejected nor was I its just the nature of the site. Oh weekends are slow..at night esp.
thats a big bucket of worms there put ABS where it never was you need computer senisers whoo eee mama thats a lot of work now if you are upgradeing your next toy thats differant hammer down but on your daily driver eeeks.and your car ins. wont care because if its not factory instaled they wont buy it

only way I'd attempt it is have donar vehicle and transplant side by side and lots of time
Your question was answered in under 12 hours, on your second request anyway.
No, you just can't add ABS hubs and have front ABS.
If you want witty replies, pages of discussion and technical information, then modify how you ask your questions. Don't ask "IF I DO A, CAN I GET B." It's a yes or no question. Instead, ask "MY TRUCK DOESN'T HAVE B. HOW CAN I GET B ON MY TRUCK?" An open ended question will spark a lot more discussion.
I personally look for the post with 0 responses first and try to make some type of comment even if it doesn't answer the question just to put the post back up front where most people look first anyway. Your not going to get much response from something no one has tried before.
asking if you can put abs on a non abs truck is a dumb question anyway. I'm sure very few here would have the know-how or technology to accomplish such a feat. Myself included. No wonder you got no responses. You can't just ask a whopper of a question like that, only have 49 posts, and then bitch about it. I'm still new here, everytime I post I feel like I'm lucky when someone actually does reply. Alotta guys here know alot about these trucks, its prolly pretty dumb to **** them off with a thread like this. Especially when there is no doubt that with the questions you are asking, you will need their help in the future. /end rant
Edit: I type like I'm illiterate when I get rollin...
