updated info---the motor was a swap-they used the flywheel off the truck and the harmonic balancer-was swapped out the original one broke coming off-they think it was off an older 302early 1970s???-I have a balancer and flywheel off a 1978 351-any one know if that will work on a mid 80s 302???

They changed the balance of the 302's around 1982. So if yours is an 84, it's going to have the 50oz balance. So that probably is the vibration problem. You are going to have to pull the motor or the tranny, you may be able just to slide the tranny back enough to change the flywheel/flexplate.
