airflow

1994 idi .the air intake seems very resrictive,would it help to either drill holes or cut off that big bowl shaped thing on the air cleaner lid?

drill holes in the side,just to open it up a little .get alot of snow here so i dont know about cutting it all off

After cutting the bowl, but instead of drilling holes, the Hypermax "Air induction kit" is still available for 83 - 94 F-250 diesel.

You do not want to pull in any air from under the hood. Hot air is no help. The Hypermax unit is cowl induction. A non turbo will benefit more from ram air. There seems to be some discussion about cowl induction having any ram effect.
