Battery light on.....

Just noticed my bat. light is going on when starting the truck. Also just noticed the tiny blue light for my Cobra alarm sys., blinks while armed, ( ive always thought it only did that for a minute then goes off).

Is the system (I have in my sig), supposed to blink all the time while armed? and could this be draining my batts? or is it just time for new batts? (35k miles)

Thanks

At 35,000 miles it would be good to take it to Autozone and have them load check the batteries.

my dad just had A bad battery replaced in his 05 last week & I only got 3 years out of my 04, the motocraft batt`s are *****. I dont have a viper but most alarms blink slow when armed & blink fast if set off when you were away.

No, he didnt it was under warranty & ford would replace only 1. I think its bs but what can you do , so I told him not to bother buying a second motocraft just wait until these go out in 1 or 2 years & buy a good set. he`s out of warranty in a couple weeks I think they were just tryin to get him out the door. ps, it is a psd.

The led on the viper 5900 should flash the entire time while the alarm is armed. It is a “theft deterrent” and it draws almost nothing. I have been told that it is almost less than the normal discharge of a battery over time with no draw.

No the 100k only covers the engine, nothing else.have them tested to be sure, but most likely one of them has A bad cell, if so be sure to replace them both.

Little late to blame Ford about the warranty if you didn't look into it before purchasing the truck. Always read the contract "before" signing it, not "after" and then bitching about it.

...still gonna bitch, due to the fact that its called a POWER TRAIN warranty, not a ENGINE warranty.
