the filter is about 10 inches long and about 7-8 inches across. those aren't exact diminsions, but i have one sittin' beside me and i guessed it. order it from www.fleetfilter.com b/c i believe that NAPA charges like 60 bucks or something like that for them and they are $27 before shipping at fleet filter.
it should be a direct fit. the 6637, i believe, is a bit bigger than the AFE filter is. let us know if you see a difference with the 6637 from the AFE. i'm interested to know if there will be any difference with it.
i dont think it will fit in the intake box, its pretty big, i thin kmine is about 11-12 inches long and i dont know the width but put it this way, it basicly touches the battery and the master cylinder

holy crap you guys run those in your trucks! wow thats huge! if I take the air box out that k&n came with can you use that filter on their intake tube?
thanks for the info! I know a couple other wix dealers here in town so the correct numbers will most certainly help
I just went outside and measured the room I need and it will fit perfect the afe box stretches from the fuse block to the battery and should house the filter perfect
I can't remember who did it, but someone has an aftermarket airbox. They removed the sealing strip from the top, cut a U-groove in the box leading to the intake tube, installed the air filter and sealing strip. Looked like a very nice setup.
I don't have an airbox, but this is what mine looks like:
