The heater element should be already be there all you have to do is put in the plug. I believe the plug is surrounded by rubber to keep moisture out. Also the heater element is located above the starter.
all I have on my 2003 xcursion is two metal tabs and a Allen head bolt
is this on a 2003 ford 6.0 I can try to look I do see the two metal circles and then hex bolt I have been trying to find this due to a no start and white smoke New York State has been extremely cold
I went u see it and on the side but with the starter in I can not see past the two circle tabs

Installing the cord is a really messy, sticky job. Especially if you follow the directions and route it per OEM. Plan on getting that underbody, black goo all over your arms and hands. Following the OEM instructions does secure it properly but man what a PITA!
I did look in fender and wheel space but can not see the exact spot to see is the block heater cord ran to drivers side
There's nothing on the drivers side related to this.
The block heater is above the starter, hard to see unless you remove the starter or the passenger side fender liner. The cord runs up the passenger side to the front bumper, where the plug end is typically hidden behind the bumper until its first pulled out.

thank you I just found it I see the two prongs I have been having a no start due to how cold it is in single digits but when it was higher in temp it started up some times took a bit of cranking. Thank you for your help
