Hey yall we just had a remote start installed in my mother's 08' escape and have a problem. It went back to the place that installed it today but they never looked at it while it was there for eight hours. The assbag said it probably isn't anything they did but here's the issue: When you use the remote start the blower motor works fine once you put the key in to drive it the blower motor stops workin. Right now i pulled the remote start box and put a test light to the acessory wire and the test light lights up dim (telling me there's a bad ground on that circuit) and the blower motor works perfec, Once i take the test light off the blower motor stops. Obviously it's searching for a ground and i was just wondering if anyone had the schematic for the blower motor's wiring so i can further troubleshoot this. Thanks for any feed back
If you had an aftermarket remote start installed, they would have connected either an Accessory or a 5th Relay wire to one of your ignition harness wires from the remote start module. This powers the fan and any accessories the vehicle needs to run when remote started. They should have stayed well away from the blower motor(seeing as many of these wires and spliced in at the SJB or the drivers lower kick panel). Do you have the name of the starter installed(make and model?). I install these at the dealership I work at, but don't have my wiring info at home with me.
they might have connected a wire wrong, or failed to install a relay where they needed to. Your dim test light could be the result of the blower motor using it as a path to ground(thus causing the motor to work). It won't light up full, because most of the voltage is being spent through the blower.
basically I need the wiring schematic to see what needs to be hooked up and how.
