Distributor Removal
I haven't started the truck since May of 07, and I'm getting ready to bring it back on the road now. I'm going to change the oil and filter prior, and want to prime the oil pressure prior to starting. So, I'll be removing the distributor and turning the oil pump with the shaft till the pressure builds. Question I have is what are the chances of the pump shaft pulling out of the pump and coming out with the distributor, or worst case scenario falling into the oil pan?

It's a 400 right? The distributor drive has this little washer sort of thing pressed onto it down neat the bottom of the shaft. The shaft goes through a small hole in the block, and the washer wont let you pull it up through the hole. At least....thats how it worked with every m block i've seen.
