Rear Lowering Shackles

I want to level my truck (2WD F150), by either lifting the front end or lowering the rear. Which option has the best quality ride after the mods are done? I have 17" wheels with 265/70 tires now with stock height, going to 285/70 if I lift the front and 275/60 if I lower the rear.

I am leaning toward lifting the front 1.5" with daystar coil spacers.

I don't know that the 285s will fit with just a 1.5" lift on a 2wd...

I have 285/60-17's on my 97 F150 4x2. Its stock height and not had any clearance problems. I do think it would look better leveled. Some times I would like to lower both ends (Street Truck) and other times I would like raise the front.

he's wanting 285/70s, which would be approx. 32.5 to 33" X 11.2". Yours i assume are approx. a 30 X 11.2.

Yes mine are approx 30-1/2" in dia.
I still have room to go larger. I dont know if 33" dia. will fit at stock height.
It looks like he wants to raise the front for that tire size. It may fit.
There is plenty of room for 275/60-17 at stock front height.
I have some new chrome Lightning wheels from e-bay, 9-1/2 x 18 that I'm
going to put 285/60-18's (31-1/2" dia) on. I have been looking it over and I think they will fit.

the wider width on the rim may let your tire rub or come into contact with the bumper or fender though. is the offset the same on your stockers and the L's rims? seems like the L rims stick out a little more than the stock 17x8s

I all ready have 9-1/2" x 17" Center Line Wheels. No bumper or fender clearance problems. I'm changing to Lightning wheels cause I used the wrong wheel cleaner or they were to hot or something. Anyway, they no longer have the nice chrome finish like they were when new. They look bad. (Costly mistake) I was thinking a bout just getting them powder coated and selling them. I also got a good deal on the new wheels.

that's unfortunate about your centerlines, if they were a 16" wheel i'd be interested!

Ya,I know, I learned a good lesson. I'm going to powder coat them and put them on e-bay and see what I can get. Anything will be better than the weight in scrap.
