motor wont start

Question motor wont start

ok so i have a 99 f150 with the 5.4L in it and i recently just blew the engine on christmas eve and i found a 5.4L out of an 01 expedition i have everythng hooked up and it wont even crank over, i thought the starter might be bad and it was so i got a new one and it still wont crank over

if any one could help i would really appreciate it

can u turn it over manually via the crank....may be a locked up junker.

well its only got 72,000 miles on it and it was only 850 bucks so yea it probobly is a junker but atleast i didnt spend 3,000 on it but the guy said it was just wrecked so idk

i think i found the reason behind all of this,,,,, one of the hot wires on the starter are broken

Much better than a seized engine which is what I was thinking when I started reading this thread. Good luck.

damn battery cables cost 89 bucks and the ford dealership doesnt even carry them lol they guy said thats they are "not replaceble" but autozone has them and it will be here on sat

got it started finaly and it runs great but sometimes the starter just clicks and i have to get under it and wiggle the wires around and i have them all in the right spot and tight so idk what the deal is

Did you happen to tighten the nut on the new cable and crack the plastic housing on the solenoid? If so, you will soon be replacing the starter. Good luck!

today was bad,.... it went from 65 to 25 in an hr and i think it messed with my truck alittle bit.... it wouldnt start so i was messing with the wires and i broke a bolt on the starter but thank god i got the life time warrenty and now it starts just fine

how to manually turn engine

Hello I have a 80 f150 thats been sitting for at least ten yrs. I think the moter was bad but it is time to start over I want to turn the engine before i do anything
