I am new to this site and think it is just great. I am now ready to start assembling my engine and am wondering if somebody out there would be generous enough to run my combo through on their Desktop dyno, PLEASE? I would like to purchase the software myself but my wife figures I spend too much now on my toy. What I have is a D1VE 460 block bored .030 over,Keith Black flat top pistons and the D6VE truck rods with ARP bolts, rotating assembly all balanced, Melling hv oil pump, Comp cams 292 single pattern hyd.Magnum cam .560 int. .560 ex. duration@.050 244 int. 244 ex., the heads are a set of C8VE-E's with stainless steel 2.19 int. and 1.76 ex. mildly ported and polished,3angled cut, with Crane gold race 1.73 roller rockers. The compression ratio should be around 11.1 since I had the machine shop just clean up the deck surface and not zero it. My intake is the Edelbrock single plane Torker with a Speed Demon 850 carb. w/mechanical secondary, and the ignition is the MSD 6AL with the MSD Pro Billet distributor.I used all Clevite bearings through out.I also have a Milodan windage tray I am putting on that I decide to use as a after thought. Now you can see why my wife won't let me buy the Desktop dyno. It has taken me a year and half to get everthing so I am really hyped about putting it all together. So if ANYBODY would be so kind as to run this through for me I will be forever thankful. I do have one question concerning the intake, I have a 2" Edelbrock aluminum carb spacer I can use how much of a difference would it make to use ? Thanks for letting me ramble,JD
From the info I could "plug in" to Desktop Dynos, the peak numbers are 529horsepower@6,000rpm&523 lbs./ft. of torque@4,500rpm.Remember this is only a "ballpark"figure, but it should be close.Lobe seperation that I used was 109 degrees. It had 500+ lbs./ft. of torque from 4,000 through 5,500 rpm.
