86 460 top end work

Howdy, tried to search my questions but found so much conflicting advice I was left more confused, so here goes!
Ive had my 86 F250 for a few years now, but the old 460 has been suffering some carb issues lately.. While I have it off the road for awhile to do a few other repairs and mods on the interior, I figured id spoil it with a couple upgrades for the top end of the engine. I don't think there will be any compatibility issues here...

Edelbrock Performer 1411 750cfm carb

Weiand Stealth 8021WND intake manifold

Summit Racing double roller timing set

Hooker Competition headers

So two questions...
I feel as though while its this far apart Id might as well bring the stock heads to a machine shop and have some work done on them. Ive never had heads machined... What am I going to want to tell the shop I want done to them?

Second question, Should I leave the stock duraspark ignition/coil/distributor alone, or swap out for an MSD Ready-to-Run unit?

I've never been a fan of putting fresh heads on old rings.

You can use the stock ignition, it will work. The MSD ignitions are easier to advance because you get many more options to choose from.
