when did you do the diffs last? i do mine once a year. i'm sure someone will say that's not enough. i do the tranny every 50k. how bout those wheel seals and regrease the front wheel bearings. wheels seals you can really just wait until they leak, but gotta keep checking them. when was the last coolant flush...check the SCA's. i'll bet your transfer case fluid hasn't been changed in a long time. get the front wheels off the ground and see if the ball joints have any play. check the carrier bearing for play. that should keep you busy for a while

I always use a diesel fuel additive. Change oil every 4,000 along with filter. Fuel filter every 12,000. New serpentine belt every 50,000. Rear end ,transfer, front end , change every 80,000 with synthetic. Antifreeze every 100,000 but add anticavitation additive every 50,000. Power steering fluid change every 1000,000 with synthetic. ADD A CHIP AND A FREEFLOW EXHAUST. Crawl undr truck once a week and inspect, Chek everything oil and other fluids once a week. Never let idle never wait for glow plugs, Wind the pi$$ out of it and NEVER lug

i normaly tow loads from 8k-12k and my truck dosent even slow on grades so i doubt i need a chip and exaust. fuel effeciancy is more important to me than blowing smoke. and with 4.10's i dont think i have to worrie about lugging it...lol i belive the coolent had to have been changed when the previous owner had the block heater installed. so i shouldent have to worrie about that, however i am going to change the t-stat as i dont think its functioning properly the hottest my temp ever gets is right below the n in normal when towing normaly it bearly gets to the normal bracket. i do my oil every 3000 using shell rottila T 15-40

Coolant still needs to be changed. The block heater doesn't have any affect on when cooant should be changed. it just keeps the engine warm for easier winter starts.

he had the block heater installed about 4 monthes ago inorder to insall the block heater you have to take a freeze plug out in doing that the coolent gets drained and has to be replaced.. although the funny thing is that now it has 2 block heaters he dident think it had one so he had one installed. i found the one for the orrigional block heater the other day when crawling around underneath the truck

When I chipped mine I went from 16-19.5 mpg average, it did not take long to pay for the chip at the fuel prices today, also make sure you go to the diesel site and get the 203 degree thermostat, and do it right.
