F100 bed re-install

Specific to mounting the bed, what do I need to do to ensure the best install? I'm guessing the bed had been taken off before as a few of the mounting points had thin sheet metal spacers between the frame and the bed, but not all of them. Do I need any kind of spacer or washer between the bed and the frame or do I directly bolt it back in place? I'll be buying new bolts for it too, I'm not sure what the grade came standard with the truck but the two I had to grind the heads off of ground down pretty easy. Play it safe and get the highest grade the hardware store carries or is there something specific to the application?

Just get some Grade 5 carriage bolts. The metal shims are to make the bed level with the cab.

I think their are only 2 shims,(round discs) for bed leveling and they are for the bolts closest to the cab. Grade 5 carriage bolts will do, make sure you crank the ***** out of them...

Excellent. Thanks. To replace the shims (if I end up needing them), does regular old sheet metal work for it? The ones on there now must be from the factory and havent faired too well.
