460 EFI MAF CONVERSION +SUPERCHARGER
I just came across a pretty neat ECU conversion specialist website www.racesystems.com They have a 460efi truck fitted with a mustang 5.0 HO ecu w/MAF custom tuned to accomodate 36lb inj, supercharger, increased displacement, etc. That truck made a whopping 500+rwhp while maintaining 15+ freeway miles ??????? I'm gonna check them out, this just be the ticket for those of us that have the MAF,and the mileage blues.

Welcome to the Club, Mike Schaffer is doing the same thing, and i originally started out doing the same thing, i have a string here at FTE that covers all the trials and errors that i went through in converting to the MAF system for my 460.

Check it out the information should be helpful. Do you already have a MAF equipt 460? what modifications have you done? where are you at in the modified 460 EFI game? Good Luck

460 EFI MAF CONVERSION +SUPERCHARGER
Thanks for the highlight,Dusty.Any additional hints or information is greatly appreciated here.I tackled my 97 460 engine swap as well as the grueling task as swapping the entire wiring harness,R134A AC,etc.I started 5 days ago,got the majors done, just need to reloom the wires in the cab and engine compartment.Decided to swap the harness because,I took note the 97 has the 3G? alternator, instead of modifying the harness, eliminating possible wiring mistakes or even worse, a vehicle fire.Right now I'm just doing a preliminary on the M.A.F. and SUPERCHARGER.I used to have a poor habit of just rushing into things, costing both time and erroneous spending.Main reason is that I want to do the conversion right the first time with minimal corrections. So right now ,I'm just doing my homework and checking with specialty shops for product highlights and experiences.Planning to install a VORTEC supercharger, according to the listed power gains, wasn't that impressive especially factoring in the price factor, thats why I'm looking into MAF and possible ECU conversion, that way I may be able to run a much more aggressive fuel, timing curves, camshafts,as well as losing the ill fated MAP sensor if possible. How is MAF system conversion on your truck performing so far?,And how the system displays on a basic ECU scantool, such as SNAP-ON MT-2500 scanner or equivalent?I may do the actual MAF+SUPERCHARGER this summer or when time permits.I utilized my vacation time to do the engine swap.(so much for vacationing)THANKS AGAIN:P

I dont remember if you said you had the E40D or a five speed, Mike Shaffer is going a different route, and is selling that MAF kit i used you might look him up here at cfte and email him, his call name is Shami02.
As to the MAF kit it worked well i did have to change the MAP to a BAP. The overlay is simple and using the mass air meter voltage regulator allowed me to fine tune the system. It does still use the diagnostic plug in for the ECC. I had a few glitches with this but most of it could be attributed to the fact that the MAF kit was for off road use only and so some wires were left out.
Hope this Helps
