I have just had the gauges problem on my excursion, replaced the shift lever (twice) replaced the ignition feed switch fuse which had blown, everything works again now but my overdrive switch, it is lit up od off, I have tried pushing button will not go off, tested all other fuses, actually tested them not just looked at transmission shifts perfect as before just will not go into od? Wire from od button did have bear spot that's why I changed it, tried second new shifter thinking first new one was bad, any suggestions? not a Ford expert or mechanic but kinda handy, about to pull remaining hair out, worked perfectly before, any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the info. I was able to find the short right where you said it would be. Saved me a lot of time.
