It will take quite a few mods to put a 6.0L in your truck.

I'd drop in a 7.3 before a 6.0, but that's just me.

If you want a diesel engine, it'd be easier to swap a Cummins into a Super Duty. There are a few companies that specialize in this swap.

No it will not be a easy job at all. You would be better off trading for a super duty with a diesel in it. Or going with the cummins conversion but that would still cost a good amount of money.

well eventually im going for the new 6.4l twin turbo, but the motor went on my truck so i figured while im in the market for a new motor ill look into diesels, i dont suppose the 7.3l is any easier. if not ill just get another 5.4 for now.

I really doubt the 7.3 would be any easy at all probably harder as it is bigger. I would just put a 5.4 back in it and concentrate on getting that new 6.4 truck you want.

Edit: I would love to be able to get a new 6.4 as well but I don't think it is going to happen for me any time to soon.

Get a Cummins and never look back, will be the best thing you ever did to that 5.4.
