flywheel?
I have a 460 with an automatic trans. and i'm wanting to switch it to a 4-speed. I guy told me he a a flywheel that is meant for a 390 but that it will work just fine in my motor. I was wondering if this was true or if the guy is trying to screw me. any knowledge of this would be a great help, thanks

flywheel?
A FE flywheel will work on a 429-460.I am running two of them now.The 390 flywheel will work on the pre 79 motors only, because of the balance. This has been talked about alot on the 67-79 boards.Look there for alot more info.

flywheel?
This swap will work as long as the balance of the two flywheel is the same aka pre 79 460 flywheel. I know this because I preformed this swap my self.I did have to slot one of the starter holes, because the starter was riding hard on the flywheel. Try to get a flywheel with the same or close tooth count Eric
