Be careful, you get what you pay for in the RV world. I too started small and worked up, started with Coleman pop-up, then 29' Wildwood, then 31' Terry Ex, then moved to 32' Carriage fiver, best trailer I have owned or been in in my 30 years of RVing.
If I had to say stay away from, it would definately be the Wildwood, poor construction techniques and sub par materials, fit & finish below average, nothing but problems, traded after one season of attempted camping.
Good luck and happy hunting
I appreciate all the feedback. Being on the Gulf Coast, we love to fish and will do our fair share near salt waters. Besides a thorough washdown after EVERY trip, does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with salt water with TTs?
I do not...but there is a member over on RV.Net His screen name is Burbman (yeah he's a bow-tie guy)...but he is BIG into fishing as he is from Long Island...he hauls his camper into the sand to surf fish quite frequently...
If you want to ask someone that has been there...done that...just go over to RV.Net and look up Don (BurbMan)...tell him Joe (crappie_fisherman over on RV.Net) sent you.
I grew up in Jersey and learned how to fish salt water fishing...now being in Indiana...I've converted to fresh water with crappie's being my favorite fish to go after...gills are nice and fight good...but I LOVE hooking a HUGE slab papermouth on nothing but a lead head jig with small maribou tail (1/16th ounce)...get into a school of crappies and the action is so furious you can't even drink your beer or light a cigar!...
Sorry...I went to my happy place...go send BurbMan a PM over there...he is one person with YEARS of experience with TT's and salt water...
the RV'n experience is all about getting to our happy place as well....if only i could pull the RV and the boat safely. luckily we're close enough to take two vehicles if we choose. i'll give Burbman a shout!
