tail gate locks
i loaded my 4 wheeler in my truck yesterday stoped at the store went to go lock the gate to make it harder to steal this is the first time i tryed it my door and ign key would not work it is ther a different key my dealer did not give me

I'll leave it to you to figure out why the door, ignition and tailgate have different locks, but 2 of the 3 locks have been replaced. Sounds to me like the door and tailgate have been replaced for some reason.

one key for all except tail gate i am thinking lack of use i hope otherwise i don't have a locking tail gate just glad it doesn't work with it locked

I though I had the same problem, but my lock was gummed up. Take the access panel off the tail gate and try cleaning and lubing everything up. Might just solve your problem!

Is it possible you have a valet key? I don't think I got one with my truck, but some vehicles do have a key that only fits the doors and the ignition, not the glove box or the trunk (the tailgate in this case).
