Okay guys, This weekend I will be spending time under the truck, starting with a coolant leak, then intercoooler leaks, then brakes, I am thinking of doing the HP crossover while having the pipes off as well as foil delete, not sure I want to do the ccv mod, dont want oil in the drive way, probably wil be adding the LED for the GPR, any other thoughts, if i could come accross some performace calipers local, i would go that route as well.
All items I plan on here are low cost, the brakes are needed, not the perormance but.
Sounds like you have enough to do already!
Not to discourage you from anything, but there are most likely some things that will show up in the middle of your job there that will require your attention, perhaps an extra trip to the parts store, etc.
Don't try and take on more than you think you can get done this weekend unless you don't mind the truck sitting until the next time off.
Good Point, I was planning on taking this on in my shop, hopefully all the tools I would need. Plus a Hydraulic shop accross the street.
That always makes life easier.
I love working on my truck, but it has to be drivable by Sunday night or I don't make any money on Monday. Shop is too small.
If your in a cold climate don't run the ccv hose very long it may freeze, just run it down the firewall and terminate under the cab so it never has a chance to flatten out.
Mine hasn't leaked in a year either. No problems running it all the way to the back -- I think Pete did an experiment by taking some of the junk that he trapped from the CCV and tried to freeze it -- it never did, nor did any water separate out of the oily goo. I don't think you'll have any problems running it to the back. I have a sneaking suspicion that the stories of the frozen CCV vent may have had a few left out details -- like going in deep water/mud or something that allowed a lot of water up the tube. Just make sure once it leaves the engine bay, it slopes down the rest of the way. I have mine ran up over the brake booster just in case any liquid tries to make it past the doghouse. No drips out of mine at all. It's run all the way back to the axle by the exhaust exit...

It's -21* here and I an icicle coming out of my ccv hose..not kidding. Joe being that you live in Texas I don't think you get the amount of condensation we do here with the cold temps. I'm positive mine was frozen and caused an oil leak. There was hardly any flow coming out of my tube and no smell. Since I cut it at the cab, it stinks and I have good flow with steam/vapor, and icicles.
I think it is difficult to run the hose with out sags and to get it going down hill is relative to how high the back of the truck is compared to the front, I think you might achieve a level situation, but it looks like it is running down hill. I feel much more comfort in having it short. Just my .02

I get some once in a while when sitting still with my windows down if there up I don't but running down the road I don't smell a thing windows up or down.Mine ends right by the front dif.
Just a thought too with the Foil Delete mod. I did mine and yeah, the Turbo whistle and the Engine noise is much louder than stock. My truck is far louder in the cab with a closed AIS than my brother's 7.3 with an open element and foil still on. Something to consider if you like to carry on with conversations etc.
Cut it short. Don't let people talk you into that long hose stuff. You will never smell it. My Cummins ends (stock) right inside the drivers side tire and I can't ever remember smelling it w/o putting my nose by it to see if I ever smelled it and then and only then could I smell it.
