I could use some help on picking out an intake for my 460. I'm debating between the Weiand Stealth 8012 or 8021. The 8012 is for regular cast heads and the 8021 is for CJ/SCJ heads. The 8021 has larger ports and they both require port matching. Would i be best off using the 8021? This truck will see daily driving but also some mud drags. I'm going to run LPG (Liquid Propane Gas) also, if that makes a difference. The engine will be about 10.75 C/R and run a Comp Cams Xtreme 262 cam. Any help would be much appreciated.
I'd run the smaller intake, the Cobra Jet intake would be way to big for stock heads and your torque would drop big time.
Why do you want to run propane? You'll lose around 15 percent HP if you do unless you raise your compression even further like around 12.1 or even higher. Propane has less BTU per lb.(read less energy) than gasoline but it does have around a 108 octane rating which would allow you to run the high compression ratio to re-coup your losses. Deen
I just bought the 8012 and it looks PLENTY big for street use. Any bigger runners and plenum would be too much in my opinion. I gasket matched the heads, the intake was already very close to the gasket size so I didnt touch it.
