The latch to the 'glove' box under the Outfitter switches on my '06, FSD250, popped. Now no open. I really need to get my IPod out, and I haven't seemed to find a way in other than to break a LOT of the plastic dash. I have tried pulling off the dash, can't get to the box. Any secrets for 'fishing' the lock, or accessing that piece without $100's of dollars in new plastic?
Your latch must have came from the same mold as mine. Try saturating the latch area with silicone spray then jiggle the box handle and cover... Worked for me plus the box is now very easy to open and close.
On the bottom, there are just the molded plastic hinges, that mate with recesses in the bottom part of the dash. I am going to try 'fishing' the latch one more time........
Thanks for the reply
If you break the handle, like I did...the plunger part of the actual latch, has a protrusion pointing toward the passenger side. If you work a skinny screwdriver in above the protruding bit, and you can pull the plunger down, opening the door. Yeah, seems simple when you look at it, but took a while when you can't see in. Thanks for the help.
