i know brotha, its pretty annoying. Its weird why it was working perfectly, then all of a sudden after lunch, I got back in my whip and it didnt want to shift at all, so I am sort of confused. And it was right after i got flashed an hour earlier at a stop light from a car full of chicks that digged the F350 haha, but then for this to happen sort of puts a damper on the day.
very intresting, i am curious to see what the codes where if there where any. This is very peculiar. But hey atleast you have an awesome truck, think those chicks would have flashed you in a new 350? i dont. Your truck is yours nobody has one like it. Even though most of us wish we did.

thank u very much my friend, I really appreciate the comments, I will keep you updated, but i am pretty nervous what to expect, I hope it doent require some kind of custom tuning
Well I will make this clear, I have had no transmission problems prior to all the work done to the truck, so its very possible it would be computer related. I would have no idea otherwise why in the world suddenly my engine wants to shut off if i go to give it gas, and why my engine wont shift for ****t, I know it wouldnt be a solenoid or a flush, because that is way to coincidental right after all that work.

I wouldn't be surprised if the truck is running lean because because of the headers, cam, and exhaust. The ECM still thinks your truck is stock.
The last time I heard a Know-it-all-wannabe mechanic say that it'll warp the valves etc, I ask him when did the laws of physics change? Of course he had a stupid look, Heat rises, cold sinks,, why would cold air travel UP the headers when the motor is shut off. He mumbled away....

Drive it.
haha yeah this particular mechanic is deff restricted to your basic mechanics, he's no tech.
Dfk, I called the shop today to check back up on her, he said he didnt know why it was acting that way. He said he took it for a ride too, and the tranny wouldnt shift for him either, and once she got warm it didnt want to start to nicely. Also the brake light and ABS light both keep going on and off, and he thinks theres a possibility that I hit a big puddle and it may have ruined a sensor or something, but the the chances of that are way to extreme and its obviously something to do with the cam and headers and the advanced timing. If i do need a chip, who should i got with? I hear JET sucks but they make custom chips, or do i need to bring this thing to a special place to readjust the computer properly?

Sounds like classic fuel and/or timing problems. Also, if bad/dying sensors get hot they can read wrong, causing all kinds of problems.

Those are codes, LOL tell him to do his job and CHECK them. Did you know sometimes a ABS light can mean a low voltage problem? Same thing with airbag lights. If there is low voltage at those sensors, they trip. Sensors also act funny when given low voltage.
I still dont think your problems are caused by the cam/headers, unless something got damaged when all that stuff was being installed. Doesnt matter if things were fine for a few days. I could be wrong, but I could be right, and thinking you need a tune for such minor mods just to make the truck run right isnt the solution right now.

TROUBLESHOOT[/QUOTE]
Yeah thats true too. The truck was running great for a few days before this. Ahh so frustrating, I was suppose to go up north today but now we have to take my brothers dodge, what a drag, 35 inch mud tires and very loud exhaust='s very bad headache for 350 mile round trip.
Whats your zip code. I can post info for SCT dealers near your area if you need any kind of tuning. I doubt you'll be able to find an off the shelf tuner/chip to handle your mods and truck year/type.
Lights blinking, means theres a code. Usually the Overdrive light will blink if there is a transmission problem. Autozone will scan for free. I got two devices that I can use for scanning OBD 2 systems. (Your truck is OBD 1) Its easy and cheap, and the first thing that should be done when you have a problem.
You didn't put in too wild of a cam, so it shouldn't run bad with stock tuning.
Did the guy hook up the O2 sensors properly with no leaks? A bad O2 sensor will screw stuff up.
Is the truck miss firing at all?
Pulling the heads off and doing a cam swap is a fairly big job, who knows what lines and etc could have gotten knocked off or taken off and not put back on. Some Ford vaccum lines are hard plastic, if you bump them hard they crack/break and have to be replaced.
Wish you the best. A hurt truck can really make you feel like s!@t.
Sounds like a good reason to swap in a 5spd. Just kidding. You got a whole soap opera going on here with your truck. I sure it hope it all pans out for you. I am swapping heads and cam on my truck this summer, but since I dont have EFI, I am pretty sure it will go a little smoother than yours.
I thought some girls were flashing me in my truck once, but they were flashing the tour bus that was behind me. Didn't hurt my feelings though.
haha sysco yeah I would take that to. Well I got the famous call back from the shop, they said it was my throttle body sensor, and that was throwing the tranny out of whack, so I was still angry I had to pay for that, I take it that would be there problem, what are the chances of that needing to be replaced right after that big job. Ahh anyway, the truck shifts great again, but it still start horribly. Its starts the way it did over the summer before I swapped in a new starter. It will start cranking normally then all of a sudden it will just be this heartbeat pause and then it will start, very strange and unflattering. Would that hard starting be related to the advance timing he did with the distributor?
