460 tuneup info
On my '96 F-250 460 I've been more than happy with Bosch Platinum +2 plugs, although I understand that Ford also offers a similar Motorcraft platinum plug.
Any good aftermarket radio supression type of wire seems fine.
Don't go with a 'solid wire' type of cable, I've heard that the use of non supressor spark plug wire can cause not only your radio but also the on-board computers to go wacko from the static interference. I'm happy with the pre-cut wires I purchased at NAPA made by Champion, mostly because the spark plug boot ends are large handles that make them easy to grab and snap on and off the plugs.
The standard NAPA or Ford caps and rotors seem just fine. I don't see where there's anything to be gained by paying more for expensive aftermarket ones other than getting a 'cool' color. The expensive ones don't last any longer.
These are really the basics. You can spend a ton more money on this stuff and not gain anything at all.
If you havve a modified engine, then I'd also go with an aftermarket ignition system. The MSD units have a very good reputation, so good that I'm almost tempted to try one on my ride, but I think I'd be wasting my money- my 460 is too close to stock...
