2002 Horn Problems

I have a 2002 F150 that the horns have stopped working. The relay is good as is the fuse and the relay clicks when the horn button is pressed so it must be the horns. I find it odd that both of them are bad but my question is where are they mounted did Ford hide them or what

The horns are in behind the front bumper on the passenger side. The relay, even though you hear it click, can still be bad, as can the ground for the horns. Test the horns by applying 12 volts with a jumper wire from the battery to the Yellow/Light Green wire. If they work, replace the relay. If they don't, then check the ground for the horns. Good luck!

The horns tend to get rust and the electrical conections corrode. Take them out and clean them up. Test with 12 volt supply. If they work repaint them. Should solve the problem. I have had to do mine twice now.

The best fix is an install from these guys. I'm still thinking of putting a totally hidden unit in my 2003 SuperCrew. Probably have to use a new button though. No more "friendly" toot with these.
