Ok guys, this has me frustrated. The horn on my 02 project truck is inoperative. I managed to find that the connector on the back of the clockspring is broken. Yes, broken. None of the wires were making contact with anything in the clockspring module. The problem is this, when I try to activate the horn by shorting the dk blue wire to ground, all I hear is a click in the fuse panel. Where on earth is the horn relay?!?! I pulled every single relay from the front of the fuse panel and nothing changes. Still just a click click in the fuse panel. The wires at the horn have no voltage, and the horn tests good when hooking it to a 12v battery.
Based on my research, the horn wire leading to the clockspring module is the dk blue and should be 12- . To me, this seems like an inoperative relay.
The 2002 owners manual mentions nothing about the relays in the fuse panel being for the horn, so does anyone know where it is on a 2002 diesel? I have searched found a wiring diagram and the relay is described as K-33. Any other ideas what it might be?
I had problems with my 01, but it ended up being corrosion on the connections at the horn inside the fender liner where the horns were mounted. Looks like you have that covered. Wish I could help you on the other.
For the benefit of future searchers, the horn relay for a 2002 F350 w/PSD is in fact a permanent, non-repairable portion of the main fuse panel. $240 dollars later, horn works like a charm....................
Well I have an 06 f-350 wich is doing the same thing. The relay is permananent and is clicking just behind the fuse box, But I am getting power to the horn and the Horn will not work when shorted directly. So I am in search of a new horn...
Good Luck!!
