2 DTC's, 2 different problems?
The CEL came on while driving the truck this weekend. Wasn't pulling anything, but was cold out (5 deg). Checked the codes and got P0299 (turbo underboost) and P0470 (Exh Press Sensor Circuit Malfunction). Do you think these two codes are for the same problem or could be two separate items? Reading past posts tells me the P0299 is more likely turbo issue and P0470 is faulty EBP sensor. But everything I find with the EBP sensor seems to relate to the earlier trucks. Don't know if I have the newest "flash" either, and whether that will help.
Also, can I check the EBP sensor using the scan tool by going thru the PID's? Is this the sensor that should read 14.7 psi?
Truck is '06, 6.0L, CC, FX4, w/ 43k.

From my experience with po299 and po470, I would say the ebp sensor is not getting a reading to the pcm so the turbo uses a low boost in a fail safe mode. My problem was with my exhaust brake and it was fixed with a new brake module. I would first check the connection on the ebp sensor and make sure it is tight. If the connection is ok you should be getting between 1.15 to 1.35 volts at idle. If you are not getting anything it is either the sensor or the wiring. This is just my experience with it. Maybe a Tech will chime in.
