brake light problem
hello, im working on my 1973 ford pickup and ran across a problem with the brake lights. only the left one works when you hit the brakes. both of them have turn and running lights tho. also when you swap the taillight from right to left it works and the left one in the right dosent work. i tryed a different wiring harness and still have the problem. any ideas

I had this problem with my truck. The problem is in your steering column. Before you tear into anything take and center your turn signal lever. and what I mean by that is turn one turn signal on then return it to off position centering it. hit the brake lights and see if they both turn on. If they don't then you will have to take your steering wheel off, take your turn signal cam out (the plastic part that cancels your turnsignal) and check the connections under that. You might just have to replace the turn signal cam ( hopefully) I had to rewire the steering column. Hope this helps.
