White lightning ford LTD
Does anyone know any info about the 429 that was put into the car, I love the way that thing sounds. I would like to know more about the engine then anything. Any help is appreciated... Thanks.....Cody

Uhh, the 1973 Burt Reynolds White Lightning? The one with chrome do-dads in a brief underhood shot, the big V8 sound track, Burt sawing the wheel and shifting gears with the auto trans lever clearly in "Park"? That one? That engine had beefed johnson rods, low drag muffler bearings, and holes drilled in the bottom of the aircleaner, along with Dolby sound from some drag strip dubbed in when it was running.....

it was supposed to be a 429PI car, it's also hollywierd so take that for what it's worth. As to sound track, my understanding is that it really was a 429 in the actual car used and that the sound you heard really was coming from that car but I don't know that from first hand knowledge.
