Rear Diff Question

1996 F150 302 5spd manual 4X4

What is the tube running from the top of my pumpkin? Also, do I have the 8.8 under there?

Are the blocks under my spring facory, or did the PO put on a mild lift? I know he installed a 2" BL on the truck.

Just for giggles, here's the front coil and recent shock.

-The hose is a breather, to allow the diff to equalize pressure without allowing water to get in. It's just an open ended hose clips to something up near your truck bed.

-Yes it's an 8.8"

-Yes those are factory blocks. Although it looks like he added some sort of spring shim thing... In the leaf spring picture there's that extra piece of spring with a big gap between the first and third... I've never seen something like that....

well when the other very weakened leaves finally give
then you can tow it home and hope it only cost you the price of new springs
of course it can always destroy a tire and a wheel and do major body damage
and maybe even break the axle tube
not to mention lose control at 60 mph and hit another car and KILL
an innocent child
just fix it PLEASE.

NO! It's not "good".

Please fix it before you kill yourself or someone else.

I agree just replace the springs. I ordered new ones for my pickup a few years back and the pair only cost like $125.
