Hey guys im looking for some differential covers for my 2005 SD V10 and for my 2000 Expeiditon 5.4 V8.
The only brand I can find is Mag-Hytec do you know of any other brands?
Thanks ~Gage~
I got the mag one on my 05 F250 V10. Not sure you can beat it for the price and quality. You won't have any regrets with this cover. Great fit, great finish, great performanc.
Go to dieselsite.com the have the factory ones of of the 08 models for around $60 just put mine on and it looks awesome..Super easy and should help with cooling from what I have read on here..Check it out man.
Keep in mind about the '08 FORD alum cover. You do not get extra capacity...and no drain plug. But for the $cost$...a good replacement from the stamp steel version.
I have M-H covers for both diffs and the tranny pan. Besides the magnetic drain plug they come tapped for temp probes(I have one in all three) and the diff covers have dipsticks with level marks. They also have O ring seals(no gasket or RTV to worry about), higher fluid capacity, cooling fins, and Allen head fasteners.

This is why I'm looking at getting a few, even though the price is somewhat steep in comparison to most aftermarket covers.

Are all 08's supposed to be aluminum? Mine is just steel and I'd like to know if the dealer owes me a flashy new cooling finned clad aluminum one!!!!!!!

NO...I do not believe they are all aluminum covers. I think they only come on the F350 SWB.
as i far as i have seen so far the finned aluminum covers came on the 6.4 superduty. not the gassers. i work for a ford dealership in nepa. i put one on my 2003 f350 last week. looks great and should cool better than the steel one by far. and alot cheaper than the mag hytec cover.

Do they come with a gasket or do they still use sealant? Kind of a pain when changing the fluid it you have to remove, scrape, clean and reaseal then fill from the little hole in the front of the diff.
Mag eliminates all of that. Built in seal, hole for fill, hole for drain, dipstick and larger capacity. 50k for some of our trucks, $300 for a cover isn't much in the overall picture.
Just my $.02
