but idealy the 315's are a perfect fit on a 10 inch rim. the tread sits perfectly flat and sidewalls are nice and perpendicular. a 265 would be bulged the wrong way on a 10 inch rim and i really thikn they wouldnt wear properly.
305\70\16's are the widest to fit perfectly on stock wheels. you should have a slight bulge from your sidewalls out to your tread but not much.
not with the 305's, my 315's dont have nay abnormal wear on them, i rotate every oil change and have never cupped or chaffed them. they wear just fine on stock wheels even lifted and abused, load d's towing big heavy crap around
