Alright guys, I'm finally gonna make these last few purchases that with support the stage 2's that I put in last fall. I've been researching turbo's lately and unsure as to what one I should choose.
My primary choice is the D 66. However, I'd like the know the specs on this (inducer, exducer, trim) and such before I buy. Mostly for comparision reasons.
In my book the H2e is just a little too expensive. I know its a ball bearing, but I think with the bigger housing the D 66 will have no thrust bearing issues.
Lastly, what about the GTP38R? I know this is a Garrett ball bearing unit but I'm not sure if it can handle the pressure created from the stage 2's.
Well don't know all the specs for the D66 but I do know the inducer or is it exducer....The intake wheel anyway is 66mm thus the name. many are running the D66 with two's. A few are even running it with hybrids or 3's. The D66 can still have thrust bearing issues but the drive pressures are more even then the stocker. The D66 is good up to 40psi.
The H2E isn't ball bearing as far as I know it just has larger journal bearings and is designed to flow more air for bigger engines (L10 cummins).
The GTP38R is a ball bearing drop in turbo for the Superduties. To run it you will need to switch over to all SD mounting and plumbing. The turbo alone is around $1300-1500 plus other parts for the conversion. To drop that coin I would go with a H2E.
I think you will be just fine if not perfect with the D66. I hope to go H2E one of these days but I will be building my own mounting kit so the cost will be more reasonable.
I've been in touch with beans to find out these numbers for the D66. Appearently they are waiting for the manufacter to call for the numbers.
I know a couple people on here have the D66. Sounds like the best route to go. I just worry about that thrust bearing in there. I don't want to lay on the fuel and them have it go boom-boom.
I wonder if there is any lag associated with the D66. It flows 1050 cfm, that quite a bit over stock.
I'm just looking for a realible 400 at the wheel. I want to be "relaxed" when I'm towing 15k down the big road at 70mph.
I'm afraid that my PMS has been slowly affecting the Peterbilt too. I just wish that thing could run with the big boys rollin down the interstate at 80 up the grades.

TJ, now your just talking craziness. I suppose I can get carried away on some things, actually I can name quite a few things lately. I think I'm going through of phase I'd like the call: "If it's worth doing; It's worth overdoing!"
Easy guys... I don't have any idea where that money would come? Remember, I live off the government. hahaha! Thats why I have too mailboxes... one for my regular mail and one for my subsidy checks! haha
if its old you could probably turn up the injector pump. at my old job we had a old ford with a cummins in it (cant remember what series) but the mechanic said all you had to do was put a pair of vise grips on the pump and crank her up
