Hushing sound

Hi everybody, this is my first post, I recently bought a 2006 crew cab 4x4 lariat diesel with 34,000 miles and I love my new truck. I have a question concerning a noise I hear once in a while, sometimes the engine has a loud hush type noise when I accelerate from a standing start. I'm not sure if this is normal. It's sounds like there is an extra fan engaged or something like that. Is this normal?

It might be your fan engaging. Have you checked you coolant level?

If it were a boost leak wouldn't it be constant? So I'm assuming this isn't normal?
