I have a 08 F250 SC SWB FX4. I noticed what I thought was the right front tire sticking out of the fender farther than the left side. Hard to tell for sure though. I then lifted the truck and put bigger tires on and it has become very noticable. Right front stickes out probably 3/4" farther than the left. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix for it. Kinda figure that I'm will be out of luck with Ford due to the lift now.
Its the Tracking Bar,
Ford uses a One size fits all on track bar length , so the front end is only close from the factory. Mine was off to the driver side because of the snow plow pkg springs. I used a adj tracking bar and centered it perfect. Like the factory should have done
When I picked up my brand new truck the front end was off to the left and 1/2" low on driver side. I looked at many on the lots and all the same or not the same but wrong .All very easy for FORD to adress in design but they don't care ,we buy them anyways. (for now)

Its sad, but I have a feeling that people will get fed up soon and ford will either have address these issues, or suffer in the sales department. There are too many other good truck options now for Ford to just sit on their butts and not put care and thought into their products. IMHO of course

Thanks
Today is your lucky day....I'm 99.9% sure I have a solution to your problem.I had the exact same problem you are having.Everybody had good guesses about it being the track bar and about the lift.....I was told it was the same thing......It didn't end up being that.....It was.......
Never thought of that , Thats sad , So sad. Seems so basic when buiding a vehicle to make sure its square and level . I Agree with above FORD Better get it together.

I never thought of it either,My girlfriend's dad(That's who fixed my truck)actually worked for Ford years ago and he told me that basically there are two guy's that bolt the cab on the frame....He said Believe it or not one guy stands there and just eye ***** the cab on the frame and when it's good he tells the other guy to bolt it down. That's it....Just eyeballing it...THAT'S CRAZY! I thought that there would be something alittle technical about it but apparently there's not.

I didn't know ROBOTS had eyes.
Looks like ford is going the cheap route once again and buying cheap robots made in China.
You would be hard pressed to get the cab off center when installing it. The six cab mounts all have 5/8'' tapered holes which must line up with the other six in the frame. This prevents the cab from wandering during assembly. The track bar is the part that should be looked at.

I know it's hard to believe, but I personally stood there and watched 4 guys slide my whole cab to the left of the frame.I'm just happy it's fixed.
Thanks for the ideas guys. I will check into adjustable track bars.
Nico963,,,was the cab off enough to notice it with the naked eye? Mine appears to be centered correctly with the bed, just by looking at it.
YES!Absolutely I had NO problem seeing that the driver's side tire stuck out alot farther than the passenger tire did.It was more pronounced when my aftermarket rims and tire's were on but you could see that it was not centered even with the stock rims and tire's.
Ford wouldn't do anything about it because they said it's not a "real problem",So I had to pay out of pocket to get it fixed....Whatever it's fix now and it's dead center and I'm happy.Good luck.
