plowing with lift
Hey Guys, just wondering if anyone does any snow plowing with say a 4" lift and 35" tires. Can the springs from a lift kit handle the weight of a plow? I plow with a Blizzard plow that weighs about a 1000#s but i want to put bigger tires on the truck. Thanks for your help

I have seen a few guys do this, I wouldn't. There is a lot to take into consideration; the plow is designed to work with the "A" frame parallel to the ground you would have to modify that to keep it performing correctly. Along with that you would have a harder time seeing close to the truck, curbs, etc.
You would have to check with the lift manufacturer to find out what the spring rates are of there spring, then compare that to what the factory rates are for your year truck.

i plow with a 3" lift and 35's and it works fine. I have a fisher Minute Mount and there is a pin you can pull and raise the plow frame to fit the truck. An added bonus is the plow now lifts up alot higher and i can push up much bigger piles

Not sure where you are, or what you plow, but the Blizzard plows are more aggressive than most others. The push beam should be between 14" and 17" above the ground. The higher you raise it, the faster the edges will wear.
Beware that wider tires are NOT better in snow. Wider tires may also restrict turning ability, which can impact plowing ability.

This was my 01...if you don't mind cutting up a perfectly good plow frame then it's probably not such a good idea

I plow with my 06 and a 6" suspension lift. The only thing I had to do was readjust the blade angle and lengthen the chain by 6". It it perfect now though, and a BLAST to plow with.

I also did, well the plow shop did it, what Yeti did, cut the plow frame and re-weld with like 7.5 inch drop brackets. Haven't had any snow to plow yet so I couldn't tell you how it works, but it looks to sit correctly now.It probably won't snow either, since I spent $1300 to switch it from my 95 to this truck, but better safe than sorry I say.
