this is a doomass question. I was a bit slow on the uptake here. If I was to turn the adjuster in the opposite direction so the ebpv did not close all the way would this aid in warming up the truck while not limiting boost as much during the cycle? I havn`t hooked up my ebpv brake yet but hooked the wires to the switch only I`ll do this when towing season comes around.
I don't know the answer, just a comment. Is it really a good idea to try to build high boost while your engine is still cold enough to cause the EBPV to operate? I usually take it pretty easy on mine until the EBPV opens up. JMO
mine is an exhaust brake..it never gets used as a warm up valve..if i want it to warm faster .. i just hit the button and its a warm up valve..then when i start to drive..the go peddle will open it...

If you EBP system is functioning properly, then the EBPV will automatically open as you are accelerating. The EBP sensor monitors backpressure, and when the PCM detects higher backpressure (ie, when you are driving, accelerating, etc), then the PCM calls for the EBPV to open up. So there really is no adjustment necessary to allow the EBPV to open up as you are building boost. The only thing you need to maintain is to keep the EBP sensor tube clean and clear of soot buildup. Too much soot in the tube will clog and cause the sensor to not see actual exhaust backpressure. Here is a writeup on how to clean the sensor tube: http://guzzle.rbmicro.com/ebps.html
Mine does this mor while driving then it did before I put in the New Tube and ebv sensor. so I am not really sure what it is. just frustrating, cuase I can't tinker while its snowing outside.

Thanks Curtis, so I will leave it functioning without messing with it. My tube was open as can be when I was in there. I like the poor man`s brake though and will be hooking it up soon. I think I like Kwiks wrightup best but Ron how did you set it up to operate?

Check to see if your turbocharger up pipes are leaking. My EBV was doing the same when the up pipes had a leak. Fixed the leak, and all normal again.
