What would yall do for a fuel system if your pump went out. Would yall buy a kit or build a kit? And if so which pumps filters regulators and so on....
I would build my own. I would use 1 or 2 Superduty electric pumps, a 30 micron pre pump filter and a 2 micron post filter each with water seperators. I would source the filter from Napa with common filters. I would use an Aeromotive A-1000 regulator then the hose/tubing would all be whatever I can find that will work. I have thought thru some of it but not all the way yet.
I am talking about replacing the stock fuel system with electric pumps and a real pressure regulator and real fuel filters. I would completely ditch the factory fuel bowl and clear the valley.

Great job on documenting the installation of the I/C and the modification to an electric fuel system. I am very impressed. I tried to give you some rep points but "they" must have thought I was talking about Jam as they told me to "Spread it around" LOL
Well that Tim isn't me. So I am glad you couldn't rep me! I just used that write for ideas. but yes it is a good write up! Sorry i should have disclaimered that one to start with.
They need to come out with something like the FASS system for dodges. I just installed one about a month ago and it appears to be an awsome setup. I too, love the fact that they have actual filters.
you can put a FASS on out trucks. I am just not willing to pay the price! I have heard Diesel Innovations has a FASS kit for the superduties but I look there and no price.
Plus one reason I wouldn't liek the FASS (though I don't know if this is the case for sure) is does it use common fuel filters or are they special or hard to find. It would be a major problem on a trip to need a filter and no be able to pull up to an autozone or Napa and not be able to find a filter. My set up will use a very common filter that most any parts store will have.
Actually, now that you bring it up. They have their own filter numbers stamped on the filters. Some part stores carry them. We went to orrielly's and they wanted to give us a water separator, but Carquest had once that would cross.
Iam not sold on the electric setup still.
The pumps are pushers not pullers.
I would like to put the pump in the tank. Or as close to the tank as possible with a sump.
I think a pump in the tank might work as well as a high dollar FASS
Diesel fuel dont like to be under a vac with the entained air. It releases it.
Got Ya!
More work. But still can be done.
When the day comes i think iam going sump with plug.
Just for the ease of tank cleaning if needed or drain a load of bad fuel.
no as long as they don't leak they do alright. but i get sick of replacing the pump and the electric system is smooth delivery and not the pulsing that the mechanical pump gives.
