460 header gaskets
I have a buddy of mine that builds race engines and has a mustang he races a lot, I asked him what the best method is for preventing header gasket blowouts. He said don't use a gasket, instead buy some of the ultra copper RTV high temp silicone. Clean the head and the header off real good. Then apply a lot of the silicone to both the head and the header and torque down the bolts real good.
I just got through doing my headers that way last night, but I have not had a chance to start it up and see if that works.
Anyway, I just thought I would let you know what I found out about the same concern that I had. Good Luck!
