A reman one will work just fine. A msd will require a seperate ignition box. You will end up spending 500.00 for the dizzy and box if you go MSD. The mallory unit does not need a box but I don't like the quality of their products.
If you just want to get away from points, your easiest solution would be a stock distributor with a Pertronix or Standard conversion kit. Ford switched to electronic ignition around 1975 but to use that distributor, you'll need a seperate ignition module and have to add some missing wires.
It has the pertronix in it now its the dist its self worn out it has alot of slop in the shaft causing us problems I guess I could get a reman 65 dist and swap over the pertronix guts hopefully its not acting up also but I think it either works or doesnt.
Excessive play in the distributor can cause an erratic signal and any ignition will malfunction under those conditions. I would start by swapping your Pertronix into a good distributor. Any FE distributor will do, doesn't HAVE to be from a 352. Just beware of the medium and heavy truck distributors. The med. & heavy trucks use a variant of the engine called an FT. It looks the same but one of the differences is the distributor.
The 330 medium duty (MD) had the same distributor as the FE, except some had a tach drive and governor on them. It was the 330 HD, 361 and 391 had the bigger oil pump drive and bigger crank snout
