429's usually came with C8VE-A,C9VE-A,D0VE-C >Heads
C8VE-B,C9VE-B > Blocks
460's are usually D2VE-AB,D3VE-AE
Get the casting numbers off the heads and the block for a start.
The Block numbers are up behind the starter on the side of the block.
Look for marks with characters like beside them * 9C26 *
The heads casting numbers are just below the valve cover lip where it meets the exhaust manifold.

i was thinking of rebuilding this and puting it on a c-6 in a 7? f150 4x4 frame shortening the wheel base and mounting a 67 t-bird body it would be kinda unique and the only one around here that i know of, i also have a 390 i could use but i just put a 460 in my truck and am falling in love with the extra cubes fast!
